Questions
Asked on almost every first call
How much does Panchakarma cost in Varanasi?
It depends entirely on which karma you need and for how many days, which is why no honest clinic can quote before a consultation. What we can promise is the sequence: you are examined first, the full cost is written down therapy by therapy, and nothing is added mid-course without telling you what it is.
How many days will I need?
Seven days for a focused course or a seasonal clean-out, fourteen for most chronic complaints, and twenty-one to twenty-eight for long-standing disease. The number is set after your pulse is read, not before.
Do I have to stay at the clinic?
No. Almost everyone from Varanasi comes in for a daily slot and goes home afterwards. If you are travelling from another city, say so on the call and we will help you find a stay close to Sarnath so you are not crossing town every morning.
Will it interfere with my regular medicines?
Bring your prescriptions and any recent reports. Medication for blood pressure, thyroid or diabetes is normally continued through the course, and the therapy plan is built around it rather than against it.
Is Panchakarma painful or unpleasant?
The oil, steam and Shirodhara are the opposite of unpleasant. The one or two cleansing days can leave you tired and hungry for a few hours, which is precisely why they are supervised and followed by a carefully staged diet rather than a normal meal.
Can I go to work during the course?
During the oil and steam phase most people manage a normal working day around a morning slot. Keep the karma day itself free, and for the two days after it keep meals light and avoid travel.
What should I bring on the first visit?
Recent blood work, any X-ray or MRI films, a list of current medicines, and a rough history of how long the complaint has lasted and what you have already tried. Come on a light stomach, and carry a change of clothes in case therapy starts the same day.
Is Panchakarma safe for someone over sixty?
Often yes, but with a gentler protocol — more Rasayana and local therapy, and a milder or no primary karma. Frailty rather than age is what decides, and that judgement is made at the consultation.
How soon will I feel a difference?
Local therapies such as Kati Basti and Shirodhara are usually felt within the first three or four days. Deeper change from a karma appears over the weeks afterwards as digestion rebuilds. Anyone promising a fixed result on a fixed date is guessing.
Is there parking, and is the clinic accessible?
Yes to parking, on site at Old RTO Chauraha. If stairs or mobility are a concern, mention it when you book and we will assign a ground-floor room and a slot with more help available.
